Mr. Bridge

About
Mr. Bridge is the second book in Conell's double exposure, Mrs. & Mr. Bridge. It tells the story of an upper-intermediate family in America in the period between the first & second world war.
The story is told in the father's perspective in over 130 little stories telling about their life.

Summary
Walter Bridge, husband to India and father to three, is a successful lawyer in a Kansas suburb. The daily dramas of his life only serve to illuminate his prejudice, self-doubts and dreary existence - his Christmas gifts to the family are stock certificates, which he immediately takes back to manage on their behalf - yet he is also kind and charitable, loving his wife while never able tell her so.

Review
I really enjoyed reading this book, even though it's a quite extraordinary book with all the small 'chapters'. It contains over 130 short stories/happenings in Walter Bridge his life. The stories all have a different subject, but in all these stories you learn almost everything about Walter and his family's life. I would recommend this novel to anyone, but keep in mind it's a different style of writing with all the little stories.
